Canoeing MB
.
Monday thru Friday
Session 1: 9am until 11am
Session 2: 2pm until 4pm
*You only need to attend one of the two sessions each day
Where: Meet at The Lake, BE ON TIME
Ages and Stages Recommendation: Physically mature enough to lift a 40 lb canoe out of the water.
What to Bring: Water Shoes or Old Sneakers that will get wet.
Recommended to Bring: Sunscreen, Water Bottle, Knee Pads for kneeling
Important Notes:
- Scouts are required to bring shoes that can get wet for safety. There are many hazards (rocks, wildlife, and others) lurking under that water, and shoes will help prevent possible injuries. Scouts need to wear these into to boats, it is NOT AN OPTION this year.
- Scouts need to pass the BSA Swim Test as a Swimmer in order to take this badge.
- Scouts should be able to lift 40 lbs above their heads. One of the requirements have the scout and his buddy flip a canoe full of water over to empty out the water inside; they will also have to lift a 17 foot long canoe off the rack and carry it 20 feet to the canoe launch each day, as well as putting it back.
