Woodburning

Woodburning offers a unique opportunity for campers, both youth and adult, to use top-notch woodburning pens and burners to create a variety of projects from keepsakes to remember your time at Ockanickon or a gift to give to your mom or dad when you get home. We offer many images of different cartoon characters, scenes, animals, and objects that campers can use to trace and burn the image onto their projects. 

When:    Monday thru Friday

                9:15am to Noon

                2pm to 5pm

 

               Tuesday and Thursday Nights

                7pm to 8:30pm

Where: The left side of the Handicraft building.

 

Cost:

Projects range in size and type from small boxes to large circular discs.

         Prices for these projects vary as well.

         Prices will be posted once finalized for the summer.

 

**Pay for projects at the Trading Post and bring your receipt to the Woodburning Staff to get started on your project.**

 

Optional to Bring:   If you have a design from home that you would like to burn onto a project, bring a copy of it to camp, and put it on your project.

Louis Truitt

Louis has been at Ockanickon for over 10 years, mostly in Handicraft. Her specialty is leatherwork but has now entrusted to run our Woodburning department. Before that, she worked at Delmont Scout Reservation in the Cradle of Liberty Council.
